Built so that geography does not decide a child's future
The Trust started with one school in 2005 and has grown into a complete pathway from the first classroom to a first job.

Our story
Sri Venkateshwara Educational Trust was founded in 2005 by H.V. Kumaraswamy with one purpose: to give children in Pavagada a quality education close to home. Pavagada is a semi-arid taluk in Tumkur District, officially recognised under the Nanjundappa Committee Report as one of Karnataka's most backward and drought-prone regions.
It is a region of agrarian distress, seasonal migration and limited access to good schooling. The Trust began with SV English Medium High School, then added a Pre-University College and a Skill Development Centre. Together they form an ecosystem that no single institution could provide alone.
Mission
To provide equitable, quality education and skill development to children and youth in Pavagada, with particular commitment to those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and to keep 25% of all seats permanently free.
Vision
A Pavagada where no child's future is limited by geography, poverty or circumstance, and where every young person has the skills and confidence to build an independent, dignified life.

What we hold ourselves to
Access
Education must reach those who need it most, not only those who can afford it. A quarter of our seats are free.
Integrity
Transparent governance, careful stewardship of donor money and honest reporting on what it achieved.
Community
Our institutions are of Pavagada and for Pavagada, shaped by local needs rather than imported templates.
Permanence
We build institutions and infrastructure meant to outlast any single donor, grant cycle or generation.
H.V. Kumaraswamy
H.V. Kumaraswamy founded the Trust in 2005, shaped by a deep connection to Pavagada and a belief that quality education has to be available in the region itself, here and now.
He oversaw the Trust's growth from a single school into three institutions serving thousands of students, women and youth, and has kept its founding commitments intact: free seats for those who cannot pay, institutions built for permanence, and governance that puts the community first.
